We The People established the contract for those who govern us in the Declaration of Independence and USA Constitution. This contract is based on our founder\u2019s grand principles of supreme individual citizens\u2019 rights and limited government to deter or interference with the exercise of these rights.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our founding fathers provided us with two methods of amending our constitution, one is controlled by the US congress and the second is controlled by the states\u2019 legislatures.  Both of these mechanisms allow only for the proposal of amendments<\/u> by at least 2\/3rds<\/sup> of the respective federal or state legislative bodies wherein a proposed amendment can only be ratified by a minimum of 3\/4ths<\/sup> of the states.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, the US Congressional amendment process would tragically be controlled by the very elitist politicians we need to rein in therefore responsible fixes are not<\/u> feasible today by this process.  This leaves only the second amendment process to achieve the governmental fix we need to save our country for our children, grand children and all future USA citizens.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today there are grassroots movements pushing the states to call a convention of states to rein in the Federal government.  One of these is the <\/strong>Convention of States Project<\/strong><\/a> and, as of September 2024, it has 19 states passing the same resolution and working hard to get 15 more for a total of 34 that is required to initiate one.  The following exemplify the out of control governmental problem, a solution, how it will succeed and some frequently asked questions about the convention of states mechanism:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One is tempted to ask, why amend the constitution if responsible politicians are elected to office. This is a reasonable question and the relevant answer is that without amending the constitution, elitist progressive politicians may once again con their way back into office by deception just as they have done at least five times in our history. They deceive the people into believing one thing while they go about doing something else once they are elected.  (<\/strong>George Washington\u2019s warning to the future \u201cGuard against the impostures of pretended patriotism\u201d <\/strong><\/em>) & (Speaking of liberty and losing our Constitutional freedoms, Samuel Adams pointed to the infamy of \u201cbeing cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men\u201d )  Just look back at the change promised by Obama\u2019s team and look at the change they actually accomplished… two totally different changes and the promised doesn\u2019t much resemble the actual; indeed, this is the artifices of false and designing men<\/u> working through the vehicle of impostures of pretended patriotism<\/u>. This last attempt (and closest to succeeding to date) is one that has drawn from past failures of over the last 100 years where four outright actions over time has brought them close but failed in achieving their ultimate goal of trashing our constitution and installing a socialistic governmental system wielding absolute central control.  Only by appropriate amendment of our constitution can we secure confidence that our constitution will endure for our children, grand children and all future individual USA citizens.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Astute comprehensive amendment of our constitution can and will provide the permanent fix of government that will allow us to once again feel safe in our homes, jobs, communities and country.  We will always have to worry about losing our freedoms, liberties and rights but\u2026 with appropriate amendment; we can once again relax and enjoy our lives with family, friends, acquaintances and pursue happiness as guaranteed by the constitution because we will know that politicians will be hard at work working for us and not working against us or they will be checked<\/u> and will suffer severe consequences for not<\/u>.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  \u201cOur constitution is <\/em>We The People<\/strong>\u2019<\/strong><\/em>s <\/strong>\u201ccontract<\/u>\u201d<\/strong> with government and if <\/em>We<\/strong> cannot ensure that government adheres to it then <\/em>We<\/u><\/strong> are left to its tyranny<\/u><\/strong>.\u201d<\/em> \u2013 Restore Our Union (2010)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
